I don't bother. With the exception of clone cuttings, cannabis doesn't require a crazy high humidity. Unless you live in a particularly arid region(like under 30% almost all the time) it's probably not worth the effort. The plants will produce humidity on their own as they grow, just don't run the exhaust as fast and/or as often.

A pond fogger in a water bowl of water in front of a fan. Pond foggers use super sonic sound to disperse the water into small droplets that create a fog effect over the water. The fan will mix this waterfog with the air which increases the air humidity very fast. I use it in my small tent since it uses up very little space. Only downside is that you have to frequently refill the water.

a fan going across soemthing moist.. the greater the surface area, the more effective it'll be. This is same thing behind an evaporative cooler except you want the moisture not the cooling effect (it is a very weak cooling effect). Just save up for a humidifier.

I used 4 towels that where just a little wet but not really fully soaked, hung them inside on the sides of the tent and changed them 2 times a day. It worked out quite well. I use high humidity in the veg (70%-60%). I used that as a quick solution when my humidifier was broken. Also you can refuse the exhaust fan speed if possible.
