DLI measured at top canopy

Apple Strudel Auto (150cm)& Sanlight 3-60 190w. Ran at 85%, 30cm distance: 45DLI. Now there is no more Space, so distance is 20cm and 45 DLI is reached at 40%. Should i keep it at 40% for the top canopy to have 45 dli or up the Lamp back to 85? No Bad Signs w/ 85% but no space

everything looks great, you had to raise smaller plant, but at least you supercropped bigger, now canopy is nice. i see no burn marks, all healthy, so keep up same. during last two weeks blast them with almost max , but that could increase temps and could cause foxtailing, so do at the end and keep an eye on temps, for now i would leave everything as it is. have great flowering ! maybe in future if you have such small space , it would be wise to take exaust with carbon outside of tent, light would have better position.

there's no good answer here outside of HST for extreme cases. you have to do your best keeping the light as strong as powerful without damaging the top colas too much -- i.e. any bleaching and you want to dial back immediately. If the foxtailing is dense, i wouldn't worry abou it. Knobby buds don't look the best but there's nothign wrong with it if it is solid bud. if some colas are taller than others, i've used those mesh fruit bags that you slide over fruits if there is a freeze occuring outside or the reusavle mesh bags you load up with fruits/veges at market -- very breathable and won't shed threads/fibers on to a sticky cola. I both those loosely over top cola and it attenuates the light. HST is also a great option. Just start snappin stems between finger and thumb - do put some consideration into how many colas you need to snap down and be organized about it to avoid physical overlap etc. They may need support the first 24h, but after that you need to tie them down so they don't try to bend back upward -- the top cola will turn, so consider that extra 3-4" bend toward the light when snapping them down. so, one or two colas, a little light attenuator will work in problem areas and if it's canopy-wide just HST it all down to a proper distance from your light.

Cannabis uses about 40DLI without added co2 pretty well. you can go a bit above it but they can run into some issues. If you don't see any bleaching, fox tailing or stunting on the top most buds, keep it at 45DLI, but if it starts to look stress lower it down. Keep up the air flow as well so its not getting to hot and has lots of fresh air to grow.. Good Luck!

Keep the DLI for the canopy and put the light higher with more power, this will give better penetration, for lower areas. Also i dont know, its just a guess, it could be that only a certain wavelength is dimmed, so that 40% isnt the perfect spectrum for flowering, but not sure. You can also bend your top canopy down on a lower level. Hope something of that helps you on your decisions
