Anything that reduces transpiration or photosynthesis is a net negative without a good reason to remove those leaves.
Were the leaves causing condensation or otherwise elevating risk of a problem? If so, it may have been okay to do, and if not it was completely unnecessary and will have some negative impact on the plant compared to if you did not remove leaves. Doesn't mean it is major or anything you should be upset about, but it will be reduced or possibly take longer.
