Wild growing around trunk

Why is there so much wild growing of anything around the trunk? Is that kind of flowering preparation or for growing up high? Btw, is she looking healthy?

Hello Obelix, you need to place your lamp higher to create more space in between the nodes. The plant doesn't feel urgent to grow taller because she get's (more than) enough light already. I would let it grow naturally first and cut away leaves that are stacked on eachother when the plant is a but taller and stronger (5-6 nodes tall).

Possible the light is to strong so it's causing short internode space.

I’m looking at what numbers always gets triggered about people not seeing. Looks like this is a bit too much light that’s causing her to grow nodes very close together. I would dim or raise your light a bit and let her grow UP a little instead of bunched up. She’s a cutie though for sure. She just needs a little less horizontal growth. Good luck

I have had a plant do something similar. Nothing to worry about. It genetics and will probably correct itself when it gets a little older. Don’t be afraid to take some leaves off.

tri leaf mutation? can't see shit, so no idea. some plants are stockier than others, but if you see more than a pair of leaves at a particular growth node, then a tri-leaf mutation would make things more congested in addition to being a stocky plant. If node spacing is too tight, could be from too much light, but also could just be normal for the phenotype. a little trial and error might be worth it. Can always ramp light back up as it focuses on flower production. i normally don't tell peopel to remove leaves, but you should remove the least amount of leaf to eliminate the physical touching underneath -- that's just going to cause standing water (condensation) and that over time is a disease vector with high risk.
