Light is about having the "right" amount not as much as possible. Read up on DLI (daily light integral) to understand it. Whether it comes from a hps or an led really won't matter much. some growth patterns may be slightly different. so if it drastically got better it's not because of hps vs led it's because of some other factor -- maybe th eLED was underpowered for the area you are covering?

You can switch plants from LED growth to HPS flowering, they like that, but you can't switch from HPS growth to LED flowering, they don't like it. I used HPS along with UV and infrared LED bars as a supplement to have a complete spectrum with the power of HPS.

Its completely different. I had all sorts of issues when I changed over. Its mostly down to the atmosphere and radiated heat. The biggest issue people have with led,s is the temp being too low, its got to be over 27 otherwise you get bleaching.LIight distance,its best to let the plant grow up to the light so have it at the top of your tent,and it only wants to be on 30% and the change from HID is still going to have some effect on it.They're the 3 main things I can think of. I'd check You tube out as I'm sure there's posts pointing out all the things that change with using LEDs.
