maybe reactive appllication but not proactive. Think it can damage plants, and there's some danger to humans too if something malfunctions.
controlling your climate and keeping a clean space should be enough. At one time i had some issues. i didn't realize my temp drop after lights out was causing a few minutes of potential condensation - after flip to flower with increased warmth from the 'now' full-power lights and larger plants transpiring. Temps dropped, RH rose, ended up with mold. And, that's with a large home dehumidifier running - 50pt/day AHAM standard
I learned it could only keep up with about 40sq ft of plants during winter which would normally be an ambient 30% RH with furnace. It died in 4 years because it had to work so hard, lol. Now one is 40% more pints per day AHAM and commercial-grade build quality. Don't skimp on the dehum.
it is almost always self-inflicted. a proper climate will avoid it.
