as far as nice pictures and macro shots, get a table-top one. this requires cutting things off your plant to take a good picture. Unless you have some mounting aparatus for your scope in your tent, you'll never hold it steady enough relative to the magnification used. High resolution options for the scope, of course...
the simple currency checkers / jeweler's loupes are usually plenty good enough to look at your trichomes as far as guaging harvest time.
