Grow room air

How should the extraction fan be sized in the growing medium? Is 50/100 m3/h enough for a 40x40x120 box? How often should you change the air in your room?

It depends on some factors, but with most LED lights you will need around 150 m3/h for the volume of 1m3 minimum. Personally I like to not run my fan on full blast, due to noise and wear off, so i recommend going double of what you need, meaning at 100% your fan would need to move 300m3/h per 1m3 but you would only run it on 20-50% of its power. Your tent is 0,19m3, lets say 0,2 so you should be fine with something between 30 and 60m3/h. I have to say though i have not flowered in such a small volume before and to be safe choose something between 50 and 100 like you said!

I've got a 80x80x180cm tent and a 185 m3/h, 125mm fan. In hindsight, I would've even taken a bigger one, since a little smell is still coming out, but it's not bothering me. I've got a 100 m3/h fan left over, if you want it 😉, you'd only need to pay the shipping (prob. isn't worth it for you, if you aren't living here near germany 😆). (If you still want it tho, just pm me xd) Anyways, as others already said, 100 might work.

You want it to have the ability to move/replace/flush the entirety of the tents air in 1min. I know fans rated on CFM, Cubic Feet per Min. Not as filmier with m3/h but seems easy to convert. 50/100 M3/h is aorund 29/58 CFM, Should be fine for your proposed use.

First sentence sounds a little confusing, what i wanted to say is you need at minimum of 150m3/h for the volume of 1m3 with most LEDs.
