1st off sorry for asking such newbie questions. These close ups are from the top most buds. I know I'm supposed to be looking for 10% amber. My question is how fast do trichombs mature. I don't want to miss my window. Planning to chop in 10 days. Should I go sooner? Hold off?

No do not chop her in 10 days. The top cola always mature the fastest. Watch the middle buds how their thricomes are. You need to make an overall search for amber thricomes. I would say you have to go with 2-3 more weeks before you harvest! If you see a lot of clear thricomes you are not there yet. And from what I can see your girl has much more to give! It’s the last 2-3 weeks when your buds get fat and your plant change colors! Give it some PK boost and prepare for the flush in 1,5/2 weeks let it use all of it stores nutes in the leaves and in the soil. Lower the temperatures and you maybe get some purple tones Hard to see if it’s finished from just one bud on one picture. But u can promise at least 2 more weeks!

It has a flowering time 7-8 weeks and ur at week 6. So keep her up for 8 weeks and you will get some buds with more amber and some cloudy with a little amber that’s the way I like it but it’s a personal taste thing. You need to find your own “taste” But give it 10-14 days and ur good to go after I read about the strain!

And as the other person said! Don’t just watch for thricomes! Your postills also! When the flower is getting ready your leaves will sometimes start to dry out as well. And you should search for the strain on internet and see what the breeder says! Also watch other people’s diaries and see how long they have been flowering the same strain

I am seeing a good amount of amber in the 2nd pic and in the 1st pic where are some weird dark spots that I do not like. Look into that and confirm it is not rotting. As for trichome ripeness. mostly cloudy is fine, peak THC is clear just before it turns cloudy and cloudy is some degradation and amber is more so. Also harvest using many indicators not just trichomes. Like pistil dry back and growth habits. eg not growing/drinking much more, buds getting denser. Pistil dry back should be around 80% ish. and plants should be up taking up less water then normal for temps and RH respectivley. Good Luck!

You have a little time time. normally a little soon to harvest in week 6 but they are starting to look close I think 10 days sounds about right. You have about a week after they are prime before a lot of them will be amber and not as strong.
