Well with a 20/4 schedule, you don't need to run the lights as powerful. i use the photo app and i get goor results with a standard sheet of white paper at the diffuser. I bought the little clip on one and that one seems to not give accurate reedings. test you app meter by looking up the ppfd chart for you light and seeing if it matches of at the power setting and distance. make sure to your diffuser you make is sturdy enough and big enough to cover your lens. What works for me I run my light around 80 percent and put them at the top of the tent and let the plants from into the light. I still measure with my meter,but most of the time is pretty damn close to what optimal par ratings are. but if you are running 20 h days that could be a little expense. If you can properly measure you ppfd you can lower you light and run it at 40 percent for seedlings to save energy.
