sure, just give it 18/6 and wait... you'll see funky growth and an insane amount of branching for a few weeks. Once that stops, you'll have much higher percent chance of clones rooting. You can try to take cuttings before that point too, but take a lot more than you need. You'd still need to wait for that funky growth to end if you don't want a bunch of popcorn bud - might have 100s of bud sites but they'll be tiny buds. The genes don't change because it flowerd, as best i know. This would be odd, lol. So, yeah once it's back to normal health and growing normally, the clones will be fine. There's a myth that clones of clones are weaker too, but that's not true, either. I think the idea that a revege is weaker is because people tried to put it into flower too soon after all that weird axillary growth created more mouths (bud sites) than what can be produced well - Misattributing cause and effect. Most people will never blame their own actions as the cause of a less than expected result. So, don't be afriad to thin it out. Prune off excess growth tips and excess branching. Although if it's a "mother" this may be a good temporary thing. new growth will snap out of it before long, though.

Make sure you leave some lower growth n buds on the plant, it will start revegging out of the buds themselves so give it lots of light, 18/6 kinda thing. N allow it time to recover, don't over feed or water as its needs will be drastically different from when it had all the blooms on it.

People do it all the time. Its not a best-case scenario, and doesn't always work, but it's better than losing a mom that you like. It might take a month or so to get her back into veg. Make sure you don't stress her out too much in any other way or she will probably do some weird things.
