Hst

Is this okay for hst? Main concerns are the one that’s angled down but mostly the full break you can see too. I mean I’ve taped a plant back together before and it worked but as long as it’s connected still it will likely repair correct ?

24 hours will answer , if its still alive after it, it will survive and will have extra knuckle or pump in that stemp. i say all should be ok.

Surprisingly, even a break like this will heal and the plant should continue growing.

You've definitely caused excess vascular damage. It still may heal. Support it so it's not fighting gravity. If the leaves are still wilted in 48hours... probably not going to heal. Could wait a bit longer than that, i guess, but the probabilty is likely tanking. If it does heal, switch up supporting it to holding it down. It will try to grow/bend vertically, again. Tie it down where you want it to bend upward. think the biggest problem here is the location. You needed to snap this sooner before it became so rigid you caused massive vascular damage. You can see the internal tissue, lol. If you do this a bit earlier at same spot, it's significantly less damage. If this is not due to height contstraints, don't use HST. If it is due to height constraints, snap sooner and keep it growing horizontally... Even so, still better to LST it as it grows for the latter context too.

its a bit aggressive. It might recover it might not. When doing that kind of break. it works best to roll the plant in between your fingers and crush the inside stem without rupturing the outside skin. This way helps keeps pathogens out and fucking it up. Only time I break bark/skin is when I am topping or have an accident when useing HST or LST.
