Buying new 315W LEC (cmh) lights At the shop I can choose between two setups: 1.Lumatek Aurora SET(this one is more compact) 2. Separate Lumatek ballast + Tekken MIRO reflector My space now is 110x60 but will improve soon.Which one would you take? Does reflector count a lot?

I found when using cmh I got better results with a better reflector. Used to have a big parabolic one with the 315 cmh and a socket converter. Used one designed for a big sodium. Used to spread the light really well over a big surface area. Used to use the one lamp but again had better results with changing to separate grow and flower lamps. Used to smash a gram per watt with the cmh. Even debated switching back recently. Suppose some comes down to budget and how much you value the extra light spread and coverage. The bugger the reflector the bigger the coverage. Always better to buy once to fit your new space rather than buying twice. Mush love

Setting up some street lighting or growing weed? LED may cost more day one, but is cheaper to operate over time. What do you get 10,000 hours from a bulb? How often do you need to replace a balast? ( i don't know) And, on top of that you spend 150% more watts for the same PPFD. CMH/HPS is street lighting and not a grow light. A reflector is important for a bulb because 50% of produced light is going the wrong fucking way, lol. You don't want a mirror-like reflector. The one that spreads light out is superior. Don't buy either. Buy a high-efficacly LED. Might need 200w for that tent. More watts needed for the cheaper LED options but still less than the cmh. A high end LED will last 7-10 years. a cheap one will last 5. It's a simple break-even analysis to see when the LED gets cheaper over time despite a slightly higher up-front cost.

Separate Lumatek ballast is nice as you can place it outside the tent where it won't add in more heat, but if one of them connects directly to ventlation tubing that would be a Bonus.
