Hi fellow growers, my Choco plant develops some eagle claws and yellow spots. She was already slower in growth compared to the other strains and now she seems to be seriously stressed. my guess would be a nutrition overload because of the all mix soil. Any other tips to help her?

Your instincts serve you well, the soil was too hot for early growth. I dunno if I'd take drastic steps to try to fix it at this point unless it gets worse. They're getting old enough to handle it soon enough. The optimal pH in soil is 6-7, so while it's on the high side it's perfectly OK. Really soil is pretty forgiving to pH imbalances as long as you're not waaaaay out of range. Many soil growers don't even measure pH, lol. While VPD is a great tool for optimizing growth, really all low humidity means is it's gonna drink more unless you lower temps to compensate-it's not causing this. Speaking of drinking more, once you're beyond the seedling stage, don't "just water the outside" lol. Water fully and wait until your pots are light until watering again. I swear I think people would be better off just asking AI than some of the answers that get thrown around on here...

Hello mate, it' probably true that all mix soil is too much for the first week of plant life but this's not the only problem. Yes the pH is another thing you need to mantain in the range 6.2-6.5 in the veg phase. I have also the environment with a bad humidity level, the temperature is goos but i need to have the 65%-75% to have the VPD level between 0.8 and 1.2. Try to fix these things and take the situation under control. Good luck and happy journey!

High Cauli, Yes, the soil contains too much nutrients for this phase of the grow. Next time start with a light mix and start giving nutrients after 2 weeks or repot her to a medium heavy soil after 2 weeks and to a All-Mix soil about 2-3 weeks after that. Also stop watering so close to the plant. You want to water ONLY at the outside! And pH 7 is too high mate, you want to give between pH 6 and pH 6.5 max. Happy Growing Buddy! 💚

Hello there 1st off your doing a great job don't get down on yourself. I have had the same problem lots of times I know exactly what the problem is. Your over watering your plants. Let thw soil get complete dry like super dry b4 watering next time. The plants will go from saggy and in a few days when soil is getting dry they will perk back up. Wait untill they start to sag just a little bit again after the perking up period. This will tell you when they are ready for more water. Make sure to check how saggy the leaves are about 5 to 6 hrs after lights on. Alpt of plants sag some at night time and 1st thing in the morning is not a good time to check. After a few hrs of light thw plants will show you how they really are feeling. I k ow it can be decieiveing when you turn on the lights and the plants are saggy don't trust what they look like when light 1st come on. Also when plants get to flower they will start to need more water. Durrong flower plants can smoke times need water every day or every other day just be aware of that when you flip to flower

It does look overfed but it also might be a "short bus" plant. The others look a bit too lush too, so i'd back off on fertilizer concnetration if you have given any, yet. If it's the soil mix, there's not much you can do... Can irrigate with extra runoff in an effort to dilute it. don't overdo that or you'll cause new problems in root zone.
