Amber trichs starting but almost all hairs still white, is this normal? Will I be harvesting early or does it still have a week or so? 60-63days typical

I'm growing 2 plants both feminized Caribbean cooler strain in Dwc I'm on day 47 of flowering and after examining a couple sugar leaves I have seen maybe 4 amber trichs per leaf and only couple of the buds have any Orange hairs. Is it normal for this to happen? My 2 and grow.

Hi, as I understand, this is normal. The sugar leaves that made the first trichome, might be old already, hence the trichome turning amber. But I would not pick the plant yet, there is still more to come, as more stigmae ("hair" or "pistils" both wrong terms but commonly used) are still being produceed

You still have 3ish weeks to go. Check trichomes on the buds, not the leaves. Once there are 98-99% brown pistils/hairs, you will be entering the harvest zone. Some strains develop more amber trichomes right at the beginning of flowering than other strains.

amber trichomes can happen at anytime. If you scope mid-flower i bet you can find a few. Don't scope leaf trrcihomes, just in case that's what you see. patience is a good suggestion. When you get antsy think about all the time you invested up to that point and realize that a few days or even a week is a drop in the bucket. No reason to rush once you have invested so much time already. Might as well do it right. 3-4 weeks, best guess .. when the calyxes have fully plumped around the pistils, then maybe 10-14 days beyond that. Usually pretty consistent after that point in my experience.

Ok so I looked it up it’s a 50/50 indica/sativa so it may not need a super extended flowering period. But I think you still have about two to three weeks to go still.

Nahhhh you got some time still to go man. Tricromes on sugar leaves mature faster than on the bud. So inspecting sugar leaves is not a good indicator of bud ripeness. Everything is normal. You just need more patience and let the flower do her thing. Harvesting too early is more detrimental than harvesting later. With a name like Caribbean cooler I could only assume this is a more sativa dominant strain. Sativas are known for longer flowering cycles. Some strains can be in flower for up to 14-16 weeks. Not saying this will take that long but yeah I think you should re evaluate your plan and grow some whooooosaahhhh. Or harvest whenever it’s your buds you do what you want.
