Hello mate, it's a very big urban legend! There's no prove that white ash corrispond to a good dried and cured bud. You should base you thinking on the taste and consistency of smoke and the effect you feel after.

It might not be fully dry. Black ash can be caused by all sorts of things that don't really mean anything negative... though overfeeding can cause it too and weed that is signficantly overfed will also have a hard time staying lit... so will slightly moist weed. If it goes away, you can chalk it up to moisture... if even after curing longer it still is dark and hard to stay lit, it was probably overfed for a long time and caused some odd flower construction. once a plant is toxic, flushing does not change the plant (directly). flushing is a tool to impact the root zone nutrient content - outside the plant, not inside. This is why flushing for no reason at end of grow cycle is virtually no impact on the plant except if it is starved of useful buidling blocks - even trichomes need to be built from 'something,' Then, it's porbably a net-negative vs irrelevant... irrelevant being the best potential effect, lol. A plant has no method of excreting excess nutes. adding water won't dilute the plant inside. over time taking in less compared to rate of use will draw it down inside the plant. it's never 'flushed out'... never.

Why does ash colour matter?? Are you going to use it for anything?? Curing will definitely improve quality.

Cure it bottle up your buds then burp it, the black ash can be nutrients if you already cut them down and dried then the best you can doo is cure it. Atleast it will get as good as it will get. Like a hunter with an unfilled tag youll get em next year

Black ash when you smoke weed can be a little frustrating, but it's actually pretty normal. It's mostly caused by leftover nutrients in the plant. Think of it like the plant's "skeleton" – it's what's left behind after the good stuff burns off. There are a couple of things you can try. First, make sure your weed is completely dry before you smoke it. Any moisture left in the plant can make the ash darker. Second, try using a different rolling paper. Some papers have additives that can also affect the color of the ash. If you want to get really technical, you can look into the specific nutrients the plant was grown with. Things like phosphorus can leave behind darker ash. But honestly, that's probably overkill. Most of the time, it's just a matter of how the plant was dried.

My purple punch was pretty meh after the drying. Since it’s been curing since September 4th it’s become much more desirable. Your buds are still full of chlorophyll, that will bleed off during the cure. Yes curing is one of the biggest parts of the process.
