Does anyone know why samsung is stopping making Leds in theb1st quarter of 2026? Wander what will be the new industry standard when samsung disappears?

They will license their designs to others.. someone else will make a generic lm301 diode for sure. it may not have the same name, but the specs willl be the same. Not all license agreements will be equal. Some may only pay for the design for the binning with lower efficacy versions of the lm301 chip.

Bridgelux is a popular manufacturer being used in fixtures like the Spider Farmer G series, Mars Hydro FC-E series, and lots of other lights so I could see them stepping up to the main role. Unless Samsung unveils something different then led diodes. All I can imagine is a thin fixture with 1 solid light source, no individual diodes. Something that's also cool and efficient.

Samsung seems to be saying that LEDs aren’t the future, so they’re shifting their focus to other technologies instead. They havent announced what exactly they are working on but im sure they got something up their sleeve
