Hi all. I just moved out of my mom's and I'm in an apartment that's is super nice but they have a 0 tolerance policy against cannabis. I have terrible PTSD is cannabis is the one medication that helps me function without sounding like an idiot. How do I smell proof it?

had a thought... what about a garden at your mom's house? You can sell it by telling her she'll still see you, lol. Get some automation going and you don't even have to go there too often.

Yes there are ways as mentioned that will work without problems. But your situation is more intrusive. The smell may not get you caught, rather your landlord simply finding it during some bogus walkthrough. The zero tolerance policy is what would concern me. What exactly does that give them the opportunity to “discover” and under what conditions would they be allowed to enter your premises? The legal question is your right to privacy.

A different point of view, this might not be for you. The thought of doing this work on an apartment seems like risky business. One mistake, one neighbor plugging the toilet, a broken ac or a stray smell has the potential to separate you from your freedom, your home and this coupled with well established PTSD seems like an exercise in bad planning training. It's a steady even persons game, slow is fast, calm is free and this whole shebang benefits from low population density. Remember learning can be fun, sometimes it's not.

If you speak about growing - then yes, big exhaust system, carbon filter and slight negative pressure. Change filters every 9-12 month, have always one spare. Some Air wick or other purifier in room and you should be safe. I did it in 11 room shared house, none of neighbors had any clue ... If consuming - eatables or vaping next to kitchen exhaust should keep you on safe side ....

It's tough, maybe impossible to completely smell proof it. That said a charcoal filter on your exhaust fan and keeping negative pressure in the tent helps a lot. It should be enough to make it relatively un noticeable. If that is not enough to keep the stank down an ozonator probably wouldn't hurt. And if that still isn't enough I would start looking for strains that don't stink as much. Also keeping the temperatures a bit low helps during flower but will slow your growth.

they key is to use an active carbon filter and make sure your tent or grow area has negative pressure -- smell cannot leak out before the filter as long as there is negative pressure... air is only pulled into area and cannot escape except through your exhaust fant. Easier to do with a tent than a room due to smaller volume. If the walls bow in slightly, you have negative pressure. you do not need to make it bow in so much that you lose space inside. Just make sure it's a pull and not a push from air pressure inside. Slowly adjust exhaust fan until you achieve it. Can always put up some makeshit support bars between tent poles to hold the walls out, if necessary. not all carbon filters are of the same quality. some come with more (grams) activated carbon, and those will be more effective and last longer. Contact manufacturer for that information. Some can be refilled and that would be the cheapest option in the long run. Pay attention to the rated CFM of the filter. In general, a 6" filter and 6" duct exhast fan should match up, but maybe some cheap shit out there will not. If you go over rated cfm of the filter, it will be less effective. Best to buy duct fans you can run at 50% or less anyway to reduce noise and stress on the duct fan. review - negative pressure, carbon filter... done. Sorry i can't help with best brands to buy. The smell from my tent is a point of pride. :P
