You have WAY too much power for a 2x2 tent.
You have 300w light in a 4sq ft space. that's 75w/sq ft and that's nearly double what a midrange efficacy light needs. So, over 12hours 50% power is probably a good start. Over 18hours you probablaly want to start around 33%.
The rest of the answer below still applies. Still the same trial and error to dial it in. Still starting at ~18"
With so much excess power you have the option of higher hanging distances, more waste, but also more even coverage wall-to-wall. If you want to spend a bit more in wattage and not quite justify it with additional yield, this is an option. You'll get better buds on the corners/edges but it'll cost a bit more per gram overall. This would take more guessing. Light spreads out very quickly, so a few extra inches can make a large impact. Maybe start at 26-28" and 67% over 18hours... adjust based odn growth... Figure it out in vege, then simply amp up to 100% in flower phase (12/12 cycle).
I probably shouldn't have used an example of 100% power.. there's no need for that in 4 sq ft with 300watts, but maybe you do 50% over 18hours instead of 33%... I'd start at least 5-6" higher given that much extra power. 24" would be a good start. Again, this will cost more per gram but give slgihtly better results wall-to-wall.

Local variables matter.
choose height based on best canopy coverage wall-to-wall. A free klux app can tell you proportional intensity (middle area under light is "100%" and every other measurement is relative to that). As long as you run it at 67% or less over 18 hours of vege cycle, you can simply ramp up to 100% when you switch to 12 hours and not have to adjust anything else. (18hours/12hours = 150% power needed. 150% * 67% = 100%.)
Allow plants to dictate from there. Too tight or damage, raise it up. Too lanky, lower it. Starting around 18" will make for minor adjustments.
An extra high VPD will require more distance to avoid damage. So, there are variables that will make your hanging distance different than some one else's gardnen. You must observe and adjust based on how the plant grows. You may need a different strategy for different seasons if you don't control the environmental vairables to some extent. Temp and RH will matter.
