i prefer to count things in a way that doesn't require a judgement call. This keeps it more consistent. It's germinated and growing before you can see it, but i count from the point it sprouts - breaks ground. I don't care what it is arbitrarily labeled at that point, it's simply the first day. I keep track of how long they take to sprout to compare any changes in my methods for germinating. I keep track of time after it sprouts to track and compare growth in an apples to apples way Break it down in a way that helps you assess things and not strictly due to arbitrary vocabulary.

Does not matter. do it however you want to its your diary. I start my first week of veg once 7 day have past of the plant popping up and out of the soil. anything before that is germination. and I start my flower 7 days after I flip it to 12/12 for photos and when I see pistils/sex on autos.
