I currently have a 2x2 and I am wondering what is the max height I should stay in veg before I need to flip. I have the 3'x2' ac infinity tent.

Since you're growing ScroG the height is pretty much set where the net is, and all growth should be horizontal. You fill out 70-80% of the net in veg, then you flip and fill out the rest of the net during the stretch. With that tent you have plenty head room, so don't worry about height restrictions :)

Just keep in mind the plant will at least double in size, being able to be even three times it's own size. That being said, low stress techniques like scrog or bending will help keep plant in size. After flipping it might take at least two weeks before you see some new signs.

use some HST and LST then flip when you want, just epect the stretch like other said.

Same thing we always do, pinky. Try to take over the world? size of tent isn't really relevant. When you fill roughyl 1/2 of the area, it's time to flip. Unless your plants grow very slwoly, then you might want to let it fill in a bit more. max height? Well you didn't really give any info to work it out. This is just basic addition/subtration. How much distance from canopy plus some head room for heat dissipation does your light require? Subtract that from total height of tent. that's your limitation... less any other common sense factors. I have an 80" tent. My drain platform is 11-13" off the ground. My pot is 11.5" tall. I need about 20-22" of space above my plants, ideally. how much height to expect after flip? Too much genetic variety and local variables to say without making a lot of assumptions. I usually see 24-36" of height after flip. That's witha 35-40 day vege for reference. Growth is exponential until limited by pot size or environmental factors. So, a longer vege can potentially expect more. Soil isn't usually as fast of growth, so that mht reduce it a bit by comparison, too...

Old grow bibles would have the rule of thumb, 'expect an additional 50% to 150% height during the stretch after flipping.' There is some leeway for strain-specific stretching habits but that distance IME is mostly based off the stress the plant is under during the flip/stretch.

Remember at the top the tent will be atleast 18in or so of space wasted with the light and filter and ect. Also at the bottom the tent the pot will be atleast 12in or so tall so that’s 2.5 feet already of height used up on equipment. Depending on genetic plants will stretch between 1.5ft and about 3ft. When you flip plants to flower the 1st 3weeks of flower the plants will grow 1.5 to 3feet doesn’t matter how tall the plants are b4 you flip them they will grow that much during early flower and they will grow a little. Ore durring the rest of flower If you have a short tent like 5 or 6feet tall I’d suggest not letting your plants get much taller than 1.5 feet before flipping to flower. You also have to keep in Mind the distance between the light and the plants you won’t be able to grow the plants completely to the surface of the light so that’s is more room that is wasted by that distance In a small tent I suggest doing a sog and put 1 plant per 1sq foot Don’t let them beach out to much and top them small

In my opinion, it depends on your light. Your tent is 5 ft tall so unless you have a really powerful light that requires a pretty tall hanging height, you should have plenty of vertical space. On the flip side though, if you have a weaker light then growing a really tall plant isn't going to be as effective. The strength of light works on the "inverse square law of light" which basically means that the further away from a source light moves the weaker it gets. Stronger lights are able to push light farther than a weak light until it weakens to the point of being useless. Long story short, there's a "sweet spot" in a light footprint where you want to concentrate your growth. Under a 100w lamp that spot might only be 8-14 inches deep(vertically), on a 600w lamp that distance might be about a meter. Chances are in a 2x2 You're using something on the smaller side. You're using a SCROG net for training. Once you fill the footprint horizontally I would go ahead and flip. It will continue to stretch vertically for a couple weeks after flip.
