I'd pluck the stuff touching the medium but would leave the rest and flip. more leaves = more growth The plat will shed the lower growth if its not needed on its own.

Defoliation has nothing to do with "bro science". Theres no scientific evidence saying its good or bad either way but theres endless amounts of anecdotal evidence out there that shows it helps a huge amount. My buds being several times bigger than the fools is one of them. I took over 505 off mine last time and I got my biggest harvest Iv ever had under led,s.All plants were between 7 and 8oz

Hello. I also have a problem with the bro-science term that has been used for about the last year, on this page. Doesn't explain anything. Just make it look like you don't like Bros. or that bros are stupid and don't know what they are doing. Could you give me a list of things that are under your Bro-science banner? Just so I know... My advice, is to look at the answerers "grams per plant" before you take their advice on this subject. Yes, I trim/prune before the 3rd week of flowering is over. I take any sucker branches off the bottom and any big fanleaves that are blocking light. I also clear up the middle fanleaves, for better airflow. better chance of not getting mold. If you take anymore than 1/3 of the plants leaves off it will go into shock and not start regrowing till it's healed. 3 to 5 days. Then leave it alone till the end. Good Luck.

If you're over the age of 35 and use terms like "bro-science" then you should probably stop hanging out with your children's friends. They're only doing it because they're hoping you're cool enough to buy them beer.

Was mir dann lieber.

Lollipop the lowest third and leave the rest alone........no defoliation is ever needed in my opinion. Based on 40 years of personal experience, defoliation is definitely "bro science".

Bro science you are a plonker 1100101.. because choosing too or not is from experience,, is that bro science you must grow from a formula or some rule book. Its absolute nonsense that you talk. Your boring ans can't think for yourself.. you think a text book is better than an experienced grower 20 years and you call that bro science. You should trying doing something off your own head and get a few brain cells. wow go crazy man push the boat out.. boring you...

It's better to get some air between the buds for later. I do it's sometimes with some strains that produces lots of leafs 🌿🍀 I just take the leafs nearest to the stam

defoliation is bro-science nonsense. lollipopping doesn't necessarily improve yield but can help reduce proportions of larf without losing yield when done right. don't wait too long beyond initial bud formation or your just cutting off part of your yield. it's a pretty weak plant if a little lollipopping causes hermies -- if that was the cause.. could have been anything.. could have happened regardless, you can't tell after the fact. as long as you don't cut off more than 33% of the plant, should be fine in that regard. No lollipop should approach such numbers anyway. if it does, it's a matter of over-growing the space.

You're not gonna get hermies by lollipoping/skirting or defoling on a healthy plant. If you had a plant go herm it was genetics.

Flip. No touch. Defoliate at 3 weeks in. Lollipop 3 weeks out from harvest. Defoliate as you approach harvest. Anything in that first 3 weeks is a mistake stress-wise on the plant, never worth it in the first 3 weeks unless you want herms or are trying to touch the top of your tent.
