I let a plant (nearly) fully cannibalize any leaf it is shedding. Might as well get what was stored in it before removing it. once it's dead or fallen off, there's no benefit and only risk. you shoudlnt be relying on shit that falls off your plant 'feeding' it ... i'd want to look up how long before it decomposes into anything useful too before assuming things. if it takes 6 months to breakdown into something a plant can use, then even that argument has no basis.

Got to take a look at how you grow and decide whats best for you, Dead leaf is organic matter, in a living soil its a source of pure clean organic fertilizer. Dead leaves are broken down by a variety of microorganisms, including fungi and bacteria, as well as larger organisms like insects and worms, which help to decompose the leaf material and release nutrients into the soil. In a sterile clean grow room the medium is used as a storage device for salt mineral uptake, organic matter in a state of decompostion without being able to break down large and complex molecules into smaller and simpler molecules dead leaves become a invitation/food for unwanted pests/insects. Nothing smells so good as dead organic matter.

I let leaves fall off on their own. If there is a lack of nutrients in the soil, the plant will turn to consuming fan leaves to further develop flower.
