Nice setup! You’ve got some healthy, well-structured plants there. As for under-canopy lighting—yes, many growers do report solid benefits, especially in dense grows like yours where the upper canopy can shade the lower bud sites. Benefits you might notice: Improved lower bud development – Less larf, more usable flower. Better light penetration – Helps with even growth across the whole plant. Potential for slightly better yields – Especially if your strain tends to stack lower buds. A few tips if you’re considering them: Use low-heat LEDs or strips so you don’t stress the roots. Place them strategically to avoid light burn at the base. Pair them with solid canopy management (like defoliation and training). At day 23, you're just past the stretch, so adding them soon could give the lower sites a chance to bulk up. Do you already have a light brand or setup in mind for underneath, or are you still researching?

I had a full supplemental bar system. Far red, UV-A+B, and a full spectrum... I removed all of them because it is really counterproductive. If your canopy needs underlighting, work on your canopy. That is where I left it. I use my full spec bar lights for a 4x4 veg for mothers now and the other bars as top lighting in a flowering tent. It is not worth the time, money, wiring, and so on IMO. Like on those plants I'd take everything leaves and all off the bottom half of the plants. Then your canopy doesn't need underlighting. If you are expecting a big benefit from them, then I got some bottled salts to sell ya . :D Just kidding, wattage in the grow room is wattage in the grow room, just better spent elsewhere IMO

context will matter.. if you typically have a deep zone of buds, lower lighting will help more. If they are trained jsut to have top colas and not much else, it won't be as much of an impact on results. it's important to remember that the maximum amount of photosynthiesis taeks place on the top of leaves. Light hitting the underside does not penetrate to the pigment as easily.. it is severely attenuated and provides little additional photosynthesis. Intracanopy lighting should still try to hit the top of leaves as best possible. As a parallel, look at an outdoor plant. The reason it has awesome buds top-to-bottom is because light intensity is the same top to bottom - excluding physical shielding. Unlike articidial light indoors where the intensite of light is greatly diminished the further you are from that light - mitigating that would obviously have a positive impact. So, you can absolutely realize some gains with lower lights, but that doesn't gaurantee it is worth the cost.

I issaly this a 100w light under my plants and it helps a ton I just ordered the VIVOSUN lumray it’s only 50w but it’s 4 bar lights 2 go all around the side of the tent. I just seen that migro has a 160w under canopy light. It’s like an upside down bar light that you can hang from the top of the tent with a sprectrum that leans red if I had the money I would definitely buy the migro under light 100% under lights and side lights make your buds more fat and plants branch out better durring veg witch leads to more bud sites in flower
