Hey! Asking for my friend. 55 days (I know XD). PPFD ~450, Biobizz moderate feeding+Calmag/Silica, watered sparingly first, but recently received 2x waterings til RO/4days. Has had this happen since weeks though. Upped watering and nutes, light +/- still happening. Thanks!

Possible causes: 1. Persistent Magnesium or Calcium issue Even though Cal-Mag is in use, if uptake was blocked earlier (pH or dry root zones), damage can linger. Look for interveinal yellowing or rusty spots – classic Mg/Ca symptoms. 2. pH drift or root zone imbalance BioBizz tends to buffer pH well, but over time or with salt buildup, runoff can still go off. Check runoff pH if possible. Ideal soil range: 6.2–6.5. 3. Silica timing or overdose Silica is great but can affect uptake of other nutrients (like Mg and Ca) if used too early or too strong. Best to introduce after week 3–4, lightly. 4. Light stress (unlikely, but possible) At 450 PPFD, it’s chill for late veg or early flower, but if your girl is sensitive and the light’s been close for a while, she might show signs like upward leaf clawing or bleaching. --- Suggestions: Dial silica back slightly or pause it. Keep watering to runoff every 3–4 days, but ensure good drainage. Check runoff pH + EC – super helpful to rule out lockout. A gentle foliar Cal-Mag spray could help new growth while the roots catch up. If lower leaves are worst and upper growth looks okay: damage might be old and just slow to recover.

Id go with Organomans suggestion of Phosphorous it fits well visually with symptoms appearing on primarily old growth across the tips and margin, uptake of phosphorous can be effected by many factors, In soil, it can bind to various elements and soil components, making it less available to plants. Phosphorus binds to Calcium in alkaline soils (pH above7) iron (pH below 7). Not sure how this would effect coco given its normal to sit in the 5.8-6.5 range. Possibly calcium spike messing with P uptake increased calcium in medium would raise PH towards alkaline, In alkaline soils (high pH), calcium can react with phosphorus, forming less soluble calcium phosphates that are not readily available to plants. Or its possibly just a plain deficiency of good old phosphrous. Are you making sure to add silica first to water waiting the 10 min? Apparently if you add nutrients first it can mess with the bonds, making some nutrients fall off, (bond into less available molecular structures for uptake) was Coco correctly charged etc?

Crispy leaves at the bottom of a young cannabis plant are usually a sign of stress, and there are a few things that could be causing it. One common reason is overwatering. When the soil stays too wet, it can suffocate the roots and lead to that crispy texture. Another possibility is nutrient burn. If you're giving the plant too much fertilizer, it can damage the leaves, especially the older ones at the bottom. If the room is too hot or dry, that can also cause the leaves to get crispy. Cannabis plants like a stable environment, so big swings in temperature or humidity can stress them out. Finally, sometimes those bottom leaves just naturally die off as the plant grows bigger. It's kind of like the plant is shedding its baby leaves to make way for new growth.

Hey growmie, yeah at 55 days she should be a further along. Looks like she’s been stunted hard for a while now. Crispy edges and slow growth usually mean root issues and underfeeding, especially if he was using RO water without enough base nutrients and CalMag. RO has nothing in it, so without that buffer, the plant basically runs on empty. From the pics, looks like she’s in coco or something similar, and coco needs daily feeding with a proper mix. If it dried out between waterings early on, that could’ve really set her back. And once autos get stunted, they don’t really bounce back the same way photos do. Silica’s fine, but not a fix. If the basics aren’t dialed in (CalMag, base nutes, stable pH), she won’t use it anyway. At this point, best move is to just keep feeding her daily, try to keep everything steady, and let her finish. Won’t be a big yield, but it’s still smokeable. 🤞🍀♥️
