Hi, I noticed some damage to the leaves of my ginger punch plant that happened during the day. I'm wondering if it's my neighbor's chickens that got through my protection or if it's a rat. What do you think?
Judging by the torn leaves and disturbed soil, I lean toward chickens rather than rats. Chickens usually scratch around the base and peck at the leaves, which seems to match the damage here. Rats tend to leave cleaner bite marks and come at night.
bunnies, squirrels, any sort of rodent etc.. if it is outside, they'll find a way.
nobody is going to be able to identify the animal from how it chewed on the leaves.
