Those leaves that grow as close to the Buds as possible do not need to be cut. Only those that are far from the Buds need to be cut. Since sugar leaves are no less valuable than the cones themselves

No — not all of them. Fan leaves are crucial for photosynthesis and overall plant health. However, selective defoliation can improve light penetration and airflow. --- What You Should Do in Week 4 of Flower: 1. Remove: Large fan leaves that are blocking bud sites. Leaves that are shaded and yellowing (they’re not helping anymore). Inner growth that won’t reach the light (popcorn buds, weak stems). 2. Leave: Healthy fan leaves that are exposed to light and helping fuel bud growth. Any leaves that are not in the way and still look vigorous. --- Why It Matters: In week 4, plants are deep into bud formation and will soon stop focusing on new growth. Over-defoliation can stress the plant, slow growth, or even stunt bud development. --- Best Practices: Trim over a few days rather than all at once (to reduce stress). Focus on the top 2–3 nodes per branch for airflow and light. Watch how the plant responds — a healthy plant will perk up within 24–48 hours.

This isnt the best place for advice.Iv put 2 people right today,1 on a number fo things.Only a fool will claim you need every leaf on the plant when theres endless evidnce that proves you don't need them all.Its always the same people that can't admit when they're wrong. When I go on their pages and cite my evidence they just delete my comments which says it all.The same people have buds that are a couple of inches long when I have buds that are about 1 foot long. The majority of breeders recommend defoliation along with the guys that get 50oz out of 1 auto and take 90% of the leaves off days before its due to go into flower,Iv told the fools and they're still giving out bad infoIts best to take leaves off within the first 2wks of flower as thats when the veg growth stops. You can still take some off though. It looks like thers a dozen or so leaves that are heavily shading the flowers that want removing.Check the info you're given, mine included.

NO. Less leaves = less energy being made = less potential yield. Without leaves making energy, buds can not grow to their maximum size.

why would you remove all the big leaves? what sort of bro-science sources have you been reading? I see no reason to defoliate anything. looks fine. leavs are incredibly important and each one should be valued. Even heavily shielded leaves are value-added. A plant will shed a leaf if it become a "sink." Small leaves are not efficient. small leaves are not the goal. Extremely old leaves can be categorized as less efficient at light absorption too, but the other processes and functions of a leaf still make them incredibly important. plus all the nutes it has tored up will just be thrown out. the co2 intake of the plant will be reduced when you remove leaves. CO2 is your liiting factor more times than not. so many reasons not to do this given existing, generational knowledge that far exceeds the ability to deduce this stuff with the naked eye while growing ahandful of plants at home with all sorts of variables wildly uncontrolled, lol. Such musings are 'anecodotes' and anecdotes demand skepticism.
