Bloom boosters do I need them?

I'm using Greenleaf nutrients 1 Part with an NPK of 11-5-14. 4 grams per 2 litres. I'm adding a tablespoon of molasses per 2 litres, A spoonful of Recharge per 2 Litres. And four ml of advanced nutrients Cal Mag extra. Do I need a boom booster to enhance the flavours?

Hey Growmie, Sounds like you're running a pretty dialed-in feeding regimen already. Greenleaf 1 Part has a strong base (11-5-14), and your additions of molasses, Recharge, and Cal-Mag Extra are all solid for root health, microbe support, and preventing deficiencies. As for adding a bloom booster to enhance flavor and bud development, it’s not strictly necessary, but it can help depending on what stage your plant is in and your end goals. Bloom boosters typically add extra phosphorus and potassium (P & K) to promote: Denser buds, Stronger terpene/flavor production, Better resin/trichome output. Since your base has 14 K already, it’s decently balanced. But during mid-to-late flower, adding a bloom booster like Greenleaf’s Bud Explosion, Beastie Bloomz, or even a PK 13/14 can give that extra edge in flavor and weight. Just be cautious not to overdo P & K, and ease into it at lower doses to avoid lockouts. Also, molasses and Recharge already help bring out natural terpenes, so if you're seeing good results and the flavors are coming through, you may not need it, but if you're chasing max flavor and density, a bloom booster could be that next-level touch. Keep killin’ it, Growmie!

Taste will come from good phenotype but to enhance the taste you should pay attention to sugars in plants (brix level). With proper brix level, plants are more resiliant to disseases and your final product will taste much much better. Silica and Lamino acids will help a little with rasising the brix and how plant transforms nutrients into sugars. Good luck!

based on 11-5-14 by itself you'll either be too high in N and K to get the right P or too low in P to get the right N and K. your soil and other products may compensate.. you'll have to look into that. You may need more P somewhere else in the formula or more n/k .. whatever option is easiest to find another product to make it a more complete diet without impacting the ratios of other nutrients. ... and as always .. what is the soil providing? way too many products and options out there for a one-size-fits-all answer. gonna have to use that noggin on your own.

Diary says soil, so there's a good bit of trial and error to get familiar with your soil content and how to supplement fertilization over time. This is something you have to learn on your own. Start with less than instructe din soil and try to react to first signs of deficiecny or toxicity to adjust your formula. You will need to provide less early on and more later as amendments that came in your soil are exhausted. It's not about boosting concetrations. It's about maintaining a good ratio of all nutes around the roots so they can be easily and reasily absorbed. You may need less N in flower, but most other things remain fairly steady as far as where deficiencies and toxicities start. I've tracked individual ppms of each nute since i started, but also in a soilless context i have no unknowns (like soil amendments and what thay provide). if your soil is light in calcium, yes you need to provide calcium. Mg is a different atom and different molecules provide it.. just because there is a popular product called 'calmag' doesn't mean they are anymore related to each other than NPK and S. You also need the 'right' amount of Mg, of course.. as with all the rest. It's rarely about dumping 'more' on the soil.. that just causes problems if done consistently. There are apps and websites that can calculat ppm for you... Tabulated weighted-average of percents from gauranteed analysis labels based on dosage are good enough for tracking and adjusting too. If systematic about it, you'll see the upper/lower thresholds of nutes where it causes a problem. It's s not foie gras, so don't try to force feed it baed on bro science. Simply observe the plant and react. Keep it healthy. If you run into issues look back on previous month or more of fertilization choices and make a better plant next time. These plants are robust and can take a beating. Remember how strong your canopy looked before any mad scientist tinkering in flower.. if the canopy falls to shit, reconsider. don't blame the plant.

Simple Answer : NO Long Answer : no, because a good well balanced feed will provide everything it needs. It does not need drastically increased amounts of P and K and then next to no N in flower like common belieaf has dictated. its more bro science then fact. Plus dumping excess P into the water ways is not helping anything and that's where the majority of it is going. If your feed is low in P and K, then yea. sure. Or if you only use a "grow" nutrient and then u add small amounts of P and K into it to turn it into a bloom nutrient again ok, but the concentrations of the PK available are way to strong. 0-50-40 on top of lets say 5-3-4 grow nutrient. you'd need 1/10th of its dose. Lot of places charge an arm and a leg for common ingredients in this stuff too. if its the same compound eg "Triple Super Phosphate" then get the cheaper version, brands don't matter.
