If you can't see a hair on the preflower in pic #1, you can pull it off, slice it open and take a magnifying glass to look inside... a pod of nanners or 2 hairy pistils folded up are easily discernable from each other.
extending from a 'twig' is also a sign of male, where as a female calyx (preflower) will rest tightly against stem. Also, the female preflowers don't multiply like the male preflowers do.
You have a shit-ton of time to figure it out before any viable pollen hits the air. No worries if you don't want to dissect anything.
google image search and familiarize yourself with each.. it feels unfamiliar at first, but this anatomy is incredibly easy to discern. It's a fast learning curve for this one. You'll feel better after you see it in RL.
