I no my autos done need to switch to 12 12 light schedule to flower but the just went into flower and on flower nutes would it have any benefit or harm if I switch from current light 18 6 that I'm doing now

Likely already been said, but DLI is what matters. you have have a DLI of 30 on 12/12 or 18/6 all depends on the lights intensity. Eg. my lights have a DLI of 37 when hung at 30" and a dim of 40% for 18/6, they also ave a DLI of about 37 when switching over to 12/12 at 60% same hang height. DLI is what matters, plants need downtime don't grow at 24/0 its dumb. Read up on what DLI is and how to calculate it. its the gold standard.

Hey @Eddy568545 👋 You’re right — autos don’t need a 12/12 light cycle to flower, since they’re not photoperiod-dependent. That said, switching from 18/6 to 12/12 won’t harm them, but it can reduce overall yield since they’ll get fewer hours of light for photosynthesis. Here’s a quick breakdown: ✅ Keeping 18/6 = more light = bigger buds (in most cases). 🌓 Switching to 12/12 = might help if: You want to save on electricity You’re running photos and autos together Temps are getting too high during long light periods But if your environment is stable and you’re just growing autos, I’d personally stick to 18/6 or even 20/4 to maximize growth during flower. 🌱💡 Happy growing and good luck with your ladies! 🔥✌️

No it wouldn't have any benefit since autos go into flower on their own and not by light cycles. The only time I would even suggest it would be if your autos are sharing their grow space with photos or if it just won't go into flower. Switching now could slow down overall growth and bud production and also reduces yield potential.

Benefit.........none. Harm........delayed flowering and potentially much smaller yields.

In future, whatever you settle on do from seed... consistency / circadian rhythms and such.. it won't be a problem 1 time, but making a habit of it might cause a rare, less robust plant to herm? no reason to disrupt schedules if it can be avoided.

Assuming you still provide the same DLI, shoulnd't matter much. Maybe there are some slight differences based on the rate of application (umol/s)? but overall yield would still be the same. some consideration will depend on local context.. is heat an issue while running 12/12? that's a reason to give the same DLI over more hours, for example. costs will be 99.5% the same as far as the light is concerned with equal DLI comparisons. You might achieve slightly higher efficacy at the diode with more hours, less intense light per second, but could aslo lose some of that gain from drivers running at lower loads -- drivers are usually most efficient at full load and some do poorly as quickly as 60-70%, while some do fine down to 50%. Just depends on the model.. So, the actual gain might be a slight loss, lol.. can't assume and either way the difference will be tiny. If either schedule in anyway makes it convenient for you or better jives with power output of light etc etc.. go for it.. use 14/10, 15/9 whatever you want. Provide the same 'max' DLI for your environment and it's going to come out the same. Oh, some people get cheaper rates during certain hours of the day from utility company -- good reason to 'fit' it in.
