You can use growth pattern to fine-tune light intensity -- too tight or too lanky. And of course, if you see some light damage, then you know to back off. watch for pistil burn if vege growth has mostly stopped.
all suggestions are just that... at best a good starting point. from there you need to observe and adjust becuase there's more than 1 variable involve and every garden is not exactly alike.
the percentage of you rlight matters, but assuming it's the 'right' DLI at 100% is wrong. DLI is what matters. With ambient co2 there's no reason to give more than 35-40 DLI, give or take. Plants can adapt to handling more without damage but if co2 isn't also increase, it's just mitigating rate of photosynthesis to avoid damage. Law of conservation of mass.. can't manifest carbon out of nothing. if there's not enough to build the sugar and whatever else in the plant, then it ain't happening.
observe growth and dial back from damage and you know you are giving as much as your local variables allow.
