Guys I'm 50/50 about whether to harvest the Banana purple punch or not yet... The old trichomes are now 5-10% amber on the top buds of each branch, but she is foxtailing like mad and had more new growth on the outside than old... Opinions??

Just go with the flow. You know her the best - and can touch and smell her. The exact time is an individual (human + plant) thingy and discussed topic. Rock on, gal💪

Yo i just recently harvested my first grow. Im just reading the questions to study not to answer as im not experienced enough. However, here, when i read the answers and i found one thing for u to concern tho, the bud rot that these good growmies mentioned. Before i harvest my plant, i see those white pistils still shooting out of the whole plant, so i thought like its still developing, however, i chopped it off after getting that feeling like they wont stop developing new pistils. Even that, i found some mold deep inside of the bud right at that one node. Wht i learnt from the answers from ur question, that could be it. So im not answering ur question but just sharing my experience and wht ive learnt from here so u might be able to prevent ur good harvest from it if thats the case. Anyway, beautiful buds! Cheers!!!

If that first close up picture is reflective of the entire plant, looks like there is still soem ripening left to do. if you want to ignore the foxtails, only scope the old calyxes of the colas. These exercises in prediction aren't too useful. When you harvest should just be a reaction... a trigger should cause it, like your assessment of trichome coloration. Once it fully plumps, you simply scope the calyxes all over the plant and wait for what you want to see. If yo udon't know what you want to see yet, you'll have to engage in a little trial and error. If systematic about it, you'll more quickly learn your preferences. Take notes.. a picture or two etc.. whatever helps you figure out 'your' trigger for harvest. While people can tell you a general window, your personal preferences pick the exact date. you only showed one cola. looks to have quite a lot of long white pistils.. whether or not that is foxtail growth or a new wave of growth i can't be certain of. how you handle that is personal preference too. I don't sacrifice the bulk of the harvest for a handful of grams of foxtails, so ignore them for the most part if they occur. Sometimes a plant has genetic redipsosition to grow them and may need to take a different approach because it now accounts for a much larger portion of the yield etc etc... context... cause and effect... not feelings.. take the thinking out of it... react to observatsions.. the thought goes into what you react to.

Hey 👋 Your harvest window is dependent on your personal taste. The more amber trichomes you have the more couch-lock effects you will get. If you have more milky trichomes with less amber trichomes you will get higher THC content, and more uplifting high. Anyways don’t wait for foxtails as she will for sure have budrod until your plant is covered in foxtails as already mentioned below. Nevertheless, great work ! Enjoy once ready 👊🍀🖖

Hey growmie from what I see and what you described, you’re definitely within the harvest window. The foxtailing and new pistils are usually just late-stage behavior, not actual new bud growth. ✅ If you’re after a balanced or uplifting high → I’d say you can harvest now. ✅ If you prefer heavier, more relaxing effects → give her 3–5 more days max, but watch out for more foxtailing and possible THC drop. You could also harvest in stages: take the top colas now and let the lowers fatten slightly longer. Totally your call—both ways will work. Looks great either way! ✌️🍀
