Ther's a good amount of amber.. but you need to look at multiple locations / multiple heights on the plant to make a proper assessment. It's usually more ripe at the top so you guesstimate an average based on multiple locations.
I don't even bother scoping until it looks right... it looks good, then i verify with trichomes and if it needs more time i wait. some plants won't amber up... this one clearly is.
you don't need a fancy microscope.. those cheap 30-60x options are fine. the only feature i'd look for is a glass lense as opposed to plastic.
