Can I add perlite to 100% coco now? Does the perlite have to be rinsed through first if so? Thank you

i would not do anything to the pot as is... but when you pot up, you can use a better-aerated mix around the plug. you generally don't want a big variance in water capacity/absorbancy from your plug to the medium it's placed into, but if you have no perlite in the plug, i'd wager it's a net-positive in this context. Plus in this context, water will be drawn to the faster drying regions with more perlite involved as opposed to pulled twoard plug. you want roots growing deep. they turn toward greater moisture.

water consumption can be viewed as the superposition of multiple factors (light intensity and plant size interplaying and humidity and temp) minimize touches to the rhizosphere and yes wash your perlite. with a mask on...

If they are just seedlings you can wait till they are a bit bigger and need a transplant. Assuming you started them off in a small pot that is appropriate for there size. If you went right into a big pot this will be harder. Aeration and drainage of a medium is a bit of an art. most mixes need about 20-30% perlite in em. or something like it. Soil is a diffrent beast but when growing in containers good to have some in the mix.

I messaged you for a cheap and easy alternative. If you are dead set on growing, I would use grow dots and ph + cal mag water and that's it. Way easier and more difficult to mess up.
