OOps. So I got the SE3000 for my 2x4x5 grow tent. Should I return and get the SE4500?

You said your tent is 2 ft × 4 ft × 5 ft (≈ 60 × 120 × 150 cm internal). That’s a somewhat narrow but long footprint. For good flowering/fruiting yields, a rough rule-of-thumb is to aim for ~ 600–1000 µmol/m²·s of PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density) at canopy (though this depends on plant species, strain, etc.). Another approach: many growers aim for ~ 30–50 W of LED per square foot (or equivalent with good diodes), though modern, efficient LEDs often exceed that target. The SE3000’s coverage is aimed at smaller/square areas — so in a 2×4 layout, it will likely underdeliver at the far ends or force you to keep plants clustered near the center. You might get uneven coverage or lower yields on the edges. The SE4500’s “core coverage 2 × 4 ft” suggests it’s more tailored to your exact tent shape, giving you stronger, more even light across the full area. Thus, the SE4500 is likely a better match for your tent footprint. Given your tent is 2×4 and given the specs, I would lean toward returning the SE3000 and getting the SE4500. The SE3000 is somewhat undersized (especially width-wise) for your tent; the extra coverage of the SE4500 is more appropriate for that rectangular layout. My judgement: 1. Return policy & cost — is returning feasible / cost-effective? 2. Electrical & heat capacity — can your setup (ventilation, cooling) handle the extra light? 3. Other limiting factors — if your other systems are weak (air exchange, nutrients, humidity control), then light is not always the bottleneck. Big up to all the ganja farmers and smokers! Keep growing 💚👌

For the shape of the tent, it would be a better fit. If it comes at great cost, could buy a 3x3 tent, if that is cheaper. They have very similar umol/s PAR outputs, so the primary difference is the shape. SE4500 12-hour operation - 90% is probably a good starting point 18h - 60% If the specs are accurate, this might be a better starting point than 67% / 100%. It's slightly overpowered for 8sq ft.
