long time from harvest, don't bother scoping trichomes until the plumping stops.
if rot is a concern, then take it early, but at this early stage i'd try to cut it out, first, and at least delay the spread to allow more ripening. Even if you cut out more flower, it'll still improve yield and likely quality compared to immature buds.
extreme situations, maybe... but that yield will shrink up to nearly nothing as it dries at this point and with reduced potency. But, even if you have to throw out half the canopy over time (another month) as it shows rot, still might outweigh what you'd get today. Just a guessing game....
