When the seedling grows above the ground you want the root to suck moist from the ground not the leaves, they need to evaporate that moist. So when you see your seedling with the first leaves make sure to get the dome off and the soil moist (not wet). Goodluck with the grow!

The best way and most simple is to remove the dome as soon as it sprouts.

Keep the dome on until the seedlings pop and show their first leaves. Once they’re up, crack it open for a day or two, then remove it fully so they can breathe and strengthen.

Seedlings do not need domes or high humidity.........remove them as soon as the seed sprouts. Only clones need domes! Seedlings need good air exchange and air movement to grow properly. Domes promote weak stems, encourage diseases and can cook seedlings.

Unless you have low RH, take off a dome when they start to sprout. If your VPD is where it needs to be, there is no reason for a dome. If it's more economical, bo ahead and use it, but it's may be more difficult to create an environment with the correct VPD for seedlings. Clones need a dome until they develop roots because you want to nearly stop transpiration. This is not the case for seedlings. The only reason i use a dome while starting seeds is to avoid an irrigation before they sprout. Reduces evaporation and the small seedling pots retain enough moisture for the entire sprouting process. Whether i was fooled by small sample or not, it seemed that having to irrigate before they sprouted lead to more less-than-ideal sprouts.

unless your tent has a RH under 30%. you don't need a dome period. If anything you can use a "well", this allows some airflow and direct light. just cut the bottom off a yougart tub and place it over were it should pop up. so the top is open but its keeping it a bit higher humidity at the base level of the medium for the baby seedling. I find this works well and I remove them once they come out fully. I normally grow in winter time so my place does get dry but inside the well the RH stays aorund 45% vs the enviroment at 30%

Once your second set of leaves pop slowly open vents a little at a time each day to prevent sagging.

Once the second set of new leaves appear is a good indication, you can always put the dome back over if they start sagging and harden them off gradually, to many factors to give an exact answera
