Hi, Cookies Casket - Pistils don“t change colour, harvesting date estimate 18th of Dec. based on breeder reco. Pistils look more like translucent, unexpected purple on the strain. Suggestions? - Sorry the limited characters don“t allow much output, but at least we have Emoji 😣

I am pretty sure, that pistols dont necessarily have to change colour. Some Strains do some dont, due to genetics. Just check die trichomes with a magnifying glass, if most of them are cloudy and some are amber it is the perfect time for harvest. Have a good one

So what i have found is to pay less attention to what the package says and more to what others growing the same genetics say. Keep in mind, they can finish fast and some never really seem to finish, but I like to push mine 70ish days unless the plant wont let me get that far. Good luck k

By december 18th they definitely will. i'd wager these finish before december 18th. The look fairly plump, but have a little left in that regard. So i'd start scoping trichomes very soon on a daily basis. When you see enough amber go ahead and harvest. If yo don't know your preference, yet, just pick something 10-70% and go with it. Try something different next time... or you can take off buds at various points and label them with varying levels of ripeness to speed up the process. nobody can tell you what you will prefer. you have to learn to ride that bike on your own. On the rare occasion a plant doens't show amber, i'd just harvest 10-14 days after the calyxes were fully plump. That's what i plan to test next time i see it happen. It doesn't happen often. I a plant or two over-ripen last year and i am not a fan of late-window harvests. I don't like the taste of it - each to their own on that. you may not agree.

hey šŸ‘‹ Everything seems to be going perfectly, with a nice resin production, especially if you still have 3 weeks to go! And honestly, leaves that healthy at this stage… well done, man. šŸ‘ If it’s not the genetics, the purple color might come from slightly low night temperatures, but it doesn’t matter : it actually pushes the plant to produce more resin. As for the pistils, you’ll see them start to brown soon; most of them will be brown in less than 2 weeks, which will line up with your harvest timing šŸ‘Œ
