If you get to 8-10 weeks and it isn't flowering, then you can be more certain that it is a photeperiod.
you do have a preflower, so if it is an auto, things should progress in a more visible way over the next week or two. By the time you see a developed preflower, it's been in flower for a bit -- if trying to compare to a photoperiod as far as timing and common perceptions of how long flower length is etc.. it takes a little estimation since we can't see it happen at the cellular level and we don't control it through light schedule with autos.
So, if you don't see pistils developing at the terminal buds within 2 weeks, i'd wager it's a photoperiod. It's worth the wait unless you have a powerful enough light to handle providing same DLI over 12 hours instead of 18h. For example, if timing is an issue and need it in flower asap, hedge your bets, amp up light 150% and change to 12/12. Context matters.
