Does anyone know why photos are not uploaded to the diary in full quality and resolution? What is the best resolution setting for uploading photos? I can't find the optimal settings anywhere...

Your pictures get compressed hard by the website. I've noticed a huge loss in quality on mine. There aren't any recommendations by GD themselves though.
It's definitely more cost efficient to reduce file size of images on the server. That's the main reason for doing that imho.
But you could give it a shot and ask them directly: growdiaries.com/contact
Maybe they will enlighten us all what format/resolution/type to use.
I just go with full resolution, maximum file size/quality and hope for the best. 😃😎💩

storage limits/cost... also, probably optimized for phone use, and with tiny screens human eyes can't tell a difference as easily as on a tv-sized screen.
there's a finite number of resolution settings, so if there is a better setting for GD, you can find it with trial and error with a handful of photos uploaded.

Sorry I can't help you with this. Iv been on this site a while and can't figure out why the resolution is shit compared to what I try and upload.
