This (supposedly male) plant is actually a hermaphrodite, right? so I should rather not use this for breeding but keep looking for a male plant which is more stable?

Yes, that is not a trait you want to pass on to offspring. It doesn't gaurantee hermaphrodite offspring, but it sure does increase the probability

Yes hermaphrodite. Only use pure males for breeding. Hermies will breed hermies. Never use hermies for breeding! They DO NOT produce "feminized" seeds!!!
