Harvest early or late?

Would you pull early (7 weeks 5 days) or late (10 weeks)? Due to personal reasons, I'm not available to harvest in the 8-9 week window specified on the strain packaging. If you were in this situation would you pull it 2 days early, or a week late? Here it is week 5 of flower.

I’d also lean towards harvesting later... A week late is usually the better option compared to pulling too early. Early harvest often means less developed buds, lower yield and not fully matured effects.Your plants still look like they’re in mid to late flower, so they’ll benefit from that extra time to bulk up and ripen properly. What you said is spot on: keep a close eye on humidity and airflow, especially as the buds get denser. Also dimming the light a bit to lower temps can really help reduce stress and improve the final ripening phase. I’d add: just keep checking trichomes as you get closer. If they’re mostly cloudy with a bit of amber, you’re in the perfect window. Happy Harvest 🙏

I think you have to wait two more weeks to make that decision. But if you decide to leave it for 10 weeks, the harvest is not the only issue. A very ripe plant has a higher risk to get budrot or powder mildew, so someone with a bit of growing experience should have an eye on her.

Hey, to answer your question, the indications marked on the packaging are just an approximate guideline. Each plant has its own genetics. It's like kids; they won't all be the same and won't die at the same time. You can harvest two identical plants planted at the same time and harvest them 3 weeks apart. And the best is a pocket microscope, depending on the effect you're looking for. More white trichomes give a more cerebral, euphoric effect, while more brown trichomes give a heavier, more physical effect. I hope I could help you! Have a great day!

Hi Growmie😎 It'll definitely take another 3-4 weeks. I would wait until 20% of the trichomes are amber and the rest are milky........ It won't be long now, and I would check it daily... Good luck!

I'd personally check the pistils rather than counting the weeks. Seems like yours are still all white. My aim is usually 60-70 percent amber pistils to chop it down. I must add thought, due to a similar situation (early harvest necessity) I had harvested a few plant while they were similar to yours and got decent weed. That being said, I'd still aim for at least 30-40 percent if possible. Beautiful flowers by the way!

I would def aim to pull as close to the 10 weeks as possible rather than the 7 week timeframe. If you pull that early you’re going to lose density/trichomes. Not worth pulling that early in my opinion

8-9 wees on the packaging is always optimistic, with nearly all plants taking longer. Harvesting a bit later (10 weeks) would be my advice.............later, fully mature buds would be much better than early picked immature buds. By the looks of the pictures, you still have roughly 3 weeks to go............which is the same as 10 weeks anyhow.

i'd re-assess when the time comes... if it looks ripe, take early... if it has ripening remaining, err on late side. can't someone just come in and cut the colas down? You don't need it to be trimmed or processed. Someone could come in and simply cut the branches off andn set them on a mesh rack whole. That wouldn't take any understanding or skill to accomplish.
