Outside of flowering it's generally no problem, but during the flowering phase it can interfere with the reproductive signal — don't worry too much, just stick to your light schedule 😅👍

Plants need to develop sexually just like humans. The plant going into flower is basically when she gets her period. She can’t do that when she’s very young hence she doesn’t care about too much light or too little even. Once she’s ready you’ll change the light to make her flower. If it’s Autos it doesn’t matter at all. You can run them 24/0. They might get light stress from it but it won’t affect their flowering behavior. I had my autos run 20/4 till the end.

The only situation where I’d have even a small concern would be with photoperiod plants, since in theory light interruptions during the dark cycle can trigger stress and potentially push them toward flowering or even herming. But in your case, that’s extremely unlikely. We’re talking about a phone flashlight for just a few minutes, one single time, and your plants are still very young in the vegetative stage. That kind of light exposure is way too weak and too short to cause any real effect. Problems usually come from repeated or strong light leaks over time, not from a quick situation like yours. So no, you didn’t hurt your plants, and they won’t turn hermaphrodite because of that. Just keep your light cycle consistent going forward and you’re good. Have Fun and dont worry to much! 😊

No, not seedlings in veg stage. No need to be worried.

Hey Wizthc, first: don't panic, Dude. Everything will be good. A single 5-minute light leak (like a phone flashlight) is unlikely to turn a healthy plant into a hermaphrodite. While cannabis needs 100% darkness to maintain flowering hormones, a one-off "accident" is usually tolerated. The Facts: Stability: High-quality genetics can handle minor stress; unstable ones are more sensitive. Frequency is Key: A single event is rarely an issue. Repeated interruptions are what trigger male pollen sacs. Spectrum: Phone LEDs mimic daylight, so avoid any further use. Verdict: Don't panic, but keep the dark period "pitch black" from now on.

not a concern in vege phase at all... even middle of the dark cycle. The issue is flower phase -- uninterrupted darkness is essential. 12/12 affords some leeway. 13/11 will work for most marijuana plants, too, so a little light a few minutes after is no big deal, but interrupting later on is a big deal. No, 3-4 minutes after the lights go out, even in flower, is not a concern. An hour or more becomes a concern. Interrupting deeper into the dark cycle is a major concern, too. Just in case -- bro science used to say 'green light is safe' -- it is not. In fact, research shows green light causes a reaction more quickly than the other wavelengths. It's actually worse. This is just one example of why you should alays have a healthy skepticism of anecdotes. Sometimes what is popular is correct, but often times it is not. There should never be a reason to interrupt the dark cycle. If it is the case, plan better in future. Definitely don't cause light pollution during flower phase.
