3 or 5 gallon pots for autos in a 4x4 tent? Using bbizz light mix and nutes, perlite, castings etc. Light is se5000 480w. Going to be doing Lst too. Just after peoples experience using both. I've used 3 gallon and felt room for improvement. Wanting to do 4x 5 gallon. Tia.

Hello Deano420! With a 4x4 tent and a solid 480w light, going for 4x 5-gallon pots is a total pro move. Since you felt there was room for improvement with the 3-gallon ones, the 5-gallon size will give those roots more "legs" to run, which usually leads to bigger plants and better nutrient stability—especially with Biobizz since organic soil needs that volume to buffer properly. In a 4x4, four 5-gallon pots combined with LST will let you fill out the canopy perfectly without it getting too crowded to manage airflow. You'll probably find that you don't have to water quite as often as you did with the 3-gallons, giving the plants a steadier environment to thrive. If you've got the space and the light power (which you definitely do with the SE5000), the extra soil volume is almost always worth it for the yield. Happy Growing, Growmie!

Hi, I put an auto Flower in an 5 Gallons Pot. After the runs the pots are completly rooted. I think less size means less plant, less weed🤯😂 not so good😅 And you have much more puffer for nutriends and water. My photo ladies i put in 7,5 gallon pots. I do Main lining and the longer vegetation needs more soil and much mooore puffer for me😂

Hi, very good question. I wouldn’t recommend using 5 gallon pots, in my opinion they’re a bit too large at around 18 liters. A 3 gallon pot is more than enough for most setups. With bigger pots, nutrients can take longer to distribute and break down in the soil, which can slow things down a bit and make feeding less efficient. I also always recommend using fabric pots. They provide much better aeration for the roots, which really helps overall plant health. Curious to see what you decide, keep us updated.😊👍

If I understand correctly, you have a floor area of 1.44 m² — 4×4 units. I have 1 m² and nine 3‑gal pots. So if you want to do "only" 4 ladies I would recommend the 5‑gal pots because the plants can also produce more potential yield. After my first grow I went from 2.3 gal to 3 gal, but I only have a 1.80 m tall tent, so I run into problems with larger plants. VOTE FOR 5gallon ! ! !

Hello, As soil is your substrate choice I'd keep it smaller, like 1 or 2 gal pots, ideally with fabric pots to keep the soil aerated. If you dial in your nutrients, light and temperature for autos then you can get great results with 2 gal pots. But watering is the most important factor, so always on right time, no over or underwatering. Autoflowering genetics have a limited timeline and I doubt there's enough time for plant to establish a strong root network in a 5 gal pot. It may not harm the grow, but I doubt it is necessary. I'm sure there are many great growers growing autos in 5 gals or more. My humble opinion. Happy grows!

Were the roots wrapping around several times? If not, 3-gal was/is fine.
