Greetings Shuks-To-Go! To be blunt: there is zero peer-reviewed evidence or lab data proving that "ice flushing" actually increases cannabinoids or terpenes. It’s one of those classic "bro-science" myths. The idea is that the cold shocks the plant into producing more resin as a defense mechanism, but in reality, it usually just slows down the plant's metabolism and can even damage the roots right when they need to be finishing strong. At week 6 of flowering, your plants look killer—you’re better off keeping the environment stable and letting the genetics do the work. If you want more terpenes, focus on a slow, cool dry and a proper cure after harvest, rather than freezing the roots at the finish line. Stick to what's proven and you'll have a much better result. Happy Growing, Growmie!

sure xD u can put an ice-cube up ur ass for 1 or 2 weeks then u share ur experience with and without it... we don't see the diffirence, but u will xDDD same goes with 72h of darkness, cold water or 24h of light for a week before harvest

There is no solid peer‑reviewed evidence that ice flushing increases cannabinoids or terpenes. Studies on flushing in general show little to no consistent effect. Ice flushing specifically has not been proven in controlled research. Cold stress can slow plant metabolism or stress roots. Stress does not reliably increase resin production. Ice is useful in extraction, not in growing more trichomes. At best it does nothing, at worst it can reduce yield or quality. Focus on strong stable light, proper feeding, and correct environment. Genetics and harvest timing matter much more than any stress technique.

Garbage. There is NOTHING you can do to magically and noticably change a plant in a few hours after months of careful growing. There are no free lunches, all these "wonderful magical enhancement techniques" are ghetto science.

My recommendation: ice flushing isn’t necessary. If your goal is to bring out purple or other colors in your plants, it’s mainly about timing and dialing in your environment. Adjusting temperatures (especially cooler nights) and managing your lighting conditions will have a much more reliable effect than stressing the plant with ice water..

Bwahah. Like flushing before harvest having any impact on mineral content of a flower, it's not even worth testing this hypothesis based of existing knowledge. That cursory experiement wasn't necessary because we already knew there was no excretion system capable of the hypotehsis that flushing a plant removes minerals from flower. It was ludicrous to start.

The only reason for ice flushing that I heard about is bringing out purple colors. Never heard or read that this has an effect on cannabinoid or terp density.

Outside of CO2, lighting and nutrient combinations there is not much more one can do concerning the limits of this plant.
