It completely depends on the look you want to create. – Inside Tent: can be a bit difficult to find the right white balance but you have lots of light and can get sharp and detailed pictures. – ceiling lamp: would definitely avoid this option! – flash: if you can get the flash of camera, this is always a good solution for detailed pictures with an accurate white balance You can also always consider using natural light if you have some big windows. also, using flash lights and long exposure is great when you have a tripod. But, for really professional pictures you will have to use multiple good light sources and experiment with them to learn how they work together.

Hi To take beautiful photos of your plants, the choice of light completely changes the look. Here is the comparison with your options: The light inside the tent (Best for details) This is usually the best option because it is a full spectrum light designed to reveal the true colors of the plant. Advantages: We can clearly see the health of the leaves and the structure of the buds. Tip: If your LEDs are making black bands on the screen (flickering), try lowering the exposure of your phone slightly. It is with this light that we can best diagnose deficiencies. The Flash (Best for resin/trichomes) Flash is your best ally to make your plant shine like a diamond. Advantages: It brings out the reflection on the trichomes (crystals). If you want a "spectacular" photo to show off the power of your plant, use flash. Disadvantage: It often crushes the reliefs and can distort the green color of the leaves by making them paler than they are. The ceiling lamp (The worst option) Avoid as much as possible. Disadvantage: Often too yellow or too faint, it creates strange cast shadows and makes the plant “sad” and dull. It does not allow you to see important technical details. My advise For a technical diagnosis: Use the tent light, but turn off the lights in the surrounding room so as not to mix the light colors. For your viewing pleasure: Take the photo with the tent light AND the flash on. This is the winning combo to have both the real color and the shine of the crystals. In your group photo, we see that the light from your tent already gives an excellent natural result. I hope I was able to help you a little, have a nice day

Anything except growlights. Flash can be harsh...........normal everyday lightglobes are probably the easiest.

LOL, thought you were asking what's best for a photoperiod... Normal room lighting is better than a grow light. Diffused light from more than 1 source is best.... something like you see in a simple photo studio kit. https://www.amazon.com/photo-studio/s?k=photo+studio -- the umbrella looking things that attach... could probably diy something similar if you really care to put in that sort of effort..
