DLI math and temperature by itself aside, ending your run indeed wants less radiation damage on trichomes... the daily cycle of damage and the nightly cycle of repairing is something you want to stop pressing to the maximum to end your run. you arent changing things materially by pushing 100% versus 80% and on and on (assuming your lights are appropriate for your footprint anyway) assuming you got good crop ready to harvest or nearing harvest, turn them down to 10% if you can. protecting trichomes is honestly the missing link for most home growers.

Better to handle high temps a different way that doesn't reduce energy provided to the lights. in the most simple way to perceive it.. there's 2 rates of concern.. rate of production/maintenance and rate of evaporation or loss... you may be reducing loss but you are also reducing rate of production / ability to maintain. Every molecule produce through endothermic reaction requires energy input from the products of photosynthesis or it cannot be made - that includes any process integral to producing thc and terpenes. Unfortunately, this is not something the human eyes can accurately resolve simply by watching the 2 contexts play out... So, without really expensive lab equipment and the proper processes to isolate and test percent of mass to compare each context with each other, there is no answer for you... there's only guesses. in the end, a little less or little more light won't matter much ... so don't fret too much

Hello. Yes... I always dim my light for the last week. I drop them by 20%. I think the flavor is better if I dim. Chuck.

Hey Shazzabee, Dimming your lights to 40% in the last week is a smart move if your temperatures are running too high. Based on practical grow experience rather than just textbook knowledge, temperature and humidity fluctuations are typical problems you definitely want to keep under control. It shouldn't be detrimental to your final stretch at all. Trichomes are the main indicator for harvest, and they will continue to ripen and turn amber even with the LEDs dimmed down. Having the lights cut out entirely because of high temps would definitely be a much bigger stressor. Just be patient, as patience brings better effects and taste, and many growers tend to harvest too early anyway.Looks like you're handling it well, growmie. Happy growing! 🌱
