No reason to be afraid to pot up an autoflower. It's a gentle process that does not stress the plant unless you absolutely demolish the rootball on purpose while doing it. This is 100% avoidable with basic competency.
I've up-potted 350-400 times? (twice per plant grown). I've lost count. Not one experienced "transplant shock." This term refers to outdoor transplants where you cut through the roots and do an extreme amount of damage to the root zone. By comparison, gently placing a plant into a larger volume and covering it up is not the same thing.
Make sure to do it when there is enough moisture in the medium. That moisture and enough roots, it will hold together on its own and nearly impossible to cause a problem. People that can't pot up a plant should quit the hobby, LoL.
As far as timing of when to do it: How quickly the plant drinks down the water is the best guide. You currenlty have a very tiny plant in a large volume of medium. there is no reason to transplant at this point. It's already in way too big of a pot to start.
when need to water every day or every other day, it's generally a good time to pot up... how fast it drinks the water tells you when it is ready. You don't want it sitting in a pot that stays soaking wet for 10 days....just as you don't leave irrigation water out to stagnate.
The benefits of size-appropriate pots on its own is good enough reason... easier to water properly.. better rootball development etc..
