In my experience, the biggest factors are a healthy mother plant, a clean cut, stable humidity, the right temperature, and patience. If those are dialed in, getting a very high rooting rate becomes much easier.
Rooting gels like Clonex are great tools, but I see them as supporting tools, not the main reason a cutting roots successfully. Even the best rooting gel can't make up for poor environmental conditions or unhealthy cuttings.
A healthy clone in the right environment will usually outperform a stressed clone with every rooting product available. That's just my experience. 👽🌱
