Hello Growmies, I have an Orange Sherbert Auto outside, I think it needs another week. But I'm going to be away for 10 days, would you harvest it now or wait until I get back? Thanks!

I would harvest. It's safer and it already looks really good.

I grew an Orange Sherbet auto this year outside, and about a week before it was ready, it got patches of botrytis mould. I harvested slightly early, and was not disappointed. If you came back to a mouldy plant, that would be disappointing!

Wow, you've built a beautiful headbud there. Unusual calyx to leaf ratio for an outdoor plant. I would check the weather report first for the time you'll be away. Humidity is a welcome foundation for mildew or bud rot in that condition. Then it's the old game with the microscope and the color of the trichomes, which (for us hobby gardeners) gives the most accurate indication of ripeness (little clear, mostly milky, amber depending on the desired high). From what I can see, I would harvest before you leave. The calyxes are fully matured, (without a microscope) I would guess that they will be overripe in 10 days.

Looks pretty close.. flip a coin. Scoping it would paint a clearer picture, but mostly about personal preference. I am not a fan of over-ripened flavor, so i'd definitely take it if it was within a few days of a typical harvest trigger. Otherwise, i'd let it go.

Good morning... In my opinion, before making any decision, you should use a magnifying glass to check the state of the trichomes. 10 days out could be overripe, but it might also not be ready yet. The ideal is to check the current state... let's see what other more experienced opinions you get...
